Exchange students live in our culture

Imagine venturing out to a place that you’ve never been to. Then, picture that place being a country with a different language and customs, along with other different things to get around. In this new country, you’d have to live with a whole new family, go to school and try to manage living the life of someone who’s lived there they’re entire life.
Foreign exchange student programs have become very popular in recent times. The type of program became popular after World War II. Some countries wanted others to understand the culture and tolerance of their own and wanted to improve the language skills of boarding countries. Although this program was not started a long time ago, aspects of it have change. Such as the amount of time some one is there. The student is typically there for anywhere from 6 to 10 months, compared to some that used to last months longer.

Many people would agree that music is an irreplaceable aspect in our lives. Such artists as Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, and Led Zeppelin, who all have helped shape minds of present and future music lovers, are re-releasing old CDs of theirs that are digitally re-mastered and ready to make a come back into the music world better sounding than ever.

Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” was released again in February. On November 30, 1982, this hit CD by Jackson hit the stores, gracing America with its presence. This album showcased the biggest hits “Beat It” and “Thriller.” However, the 25th anniversary edition is now featuring never released songs that will surely blow you Michael Jackson fans away.

Susan G. Komen- Race for the cure

“It started with a simple promise made between to sisters. It ends when that promise is fulfilled.”
The latest race was September 16, 2007 at the Eastland, Mall. People in our committee participated in Race for the Cure, because of a simple promise one sister made to her sister, to help prevent cancer. It helps find a new cure for breast cancer. Every year around the same time frame, Eastland Mall holds the Race for the Cure and I hope you were lucky enough to be a part of this organization.

Band has had a successful year

If you have been around the band room any time recently, you may have noticed the plethora of posters, pictures, banners, etc. Signs saying “Go all the way to the dome!” or “March your heart out at regionals!” The decorations invaded the hall because of the marching band regional competition on October 13. The outcome of the regional competition has already been revealed, but the season leading up to that day was very successful. The band truly proved its might this year!

The History Of The Dynasty

If you are unfamiliar with the title “Dynasty” it is
referring to the highly anticipated athletic talents
of the class of 2008.  Specifically a group of
football players who started their brotherly bond as
far back as when they first began playing the game.
The west side’s Evansville Junior Football League is
where the majority of our boys learned to love
football. From there they moved on to play Reitz Cub,
and history began.
    “Playing cub in the eighth grade we went undefeated
and we realized we were the best.” says senior Moose
Campbell, ” But the moment that really made people
notice what potential we had was freshman year when we
beat Heritage Hills 34-0.  That year, Heritage Hills
was ranked number one in state and they were
undefeated, until they faced us” continued Campbell.
    So how exactly did the title Dynasty come about?
