Fall Festival Press Release
Oct 11th, 2011 | By John Wells | Category: FeatureFrom sweet apple cider and bacon brownies to rocking to Mission 6 and cheering on friends in activities, Fall Festival is the time of year everyone looked forward to. Year by year different, bizarre foods are introduced. This year fried kool-aid, chocolate covered grapes, and bacon brownies were new. The bacon brownies were something many people were fans of.
“It really sounded gross but in the end it actually was good,” comments senior John Torres.
The biggest reason why many went to the Fall Festival was the food.
“The biggest reason I go is for the food. I love anything deep fried but my favorite of all is sausage burgers,” senior Maddie West comments.
Junior Taleah Slack, agrees with West, commenting that food is the biggest reason why many did go.
“The foods unique and you can’t get alot of it any other time,” states Slack.
Another reason, however, that many went to the Fall Festival were the rides.
“I like the rides because of the thrill it gives you. I especially like the Screamer and the Freakout,” comments Slack.
Subsequently, another reason why people go is to support their family and friends in activities such as talent shows or tug of war. Mission 6 also parrticipated in the musical entertainment.
Saturday night, also known as the last night of Fall Festival, the Reitz band participated in the parade.
“It’s fun to march and hear all those people cheer us on,” smiles Slack.
“I love the parade because you see people you know and you can cheer them on,” comments Torres.
Many people also went simply to be with friends.
“I also go to talk to people and see people from other areas. Socialization that’s really why everyone goes. To eat and talk,” states West.
Booths were scattered everywhere selling the best they had. From monster ears to ice cream sundaes every booth worked hard and quickly. There was the USI booth, the Junior Football League, Eagles View Church and so on. All the money earned by these booths are directly funded to their organization. It’s all in the fun but the money earned is also funded in important organizations. This is something you don’t want to miss so if you didn’t go this year, you might want to go next year.
