Early Adopters: It worked for me

For months, I saw it on TV, read about it in the news and got emails about it. The iPad was coming and I knew that I needed one!!!

When I first saw them, I immediately went and pre-ordered mine. I sat and home and watch the tracking information, following its progress from China to the states to my house.

When it arrived, I even posted its arrival on Facebook as if it were my baby (9.5 inches, 1.5 pounds).

I was excited to be an early adopter of the iPad, even though I hadn’t seen or touched the product because of satisfaction with prior Apple products.

Everyone who has every bought an iPhone or iPod, you know what I am talking about. You open it up and away you go, never have any problems with it and does everything I want it to do, the first time, every time.

And they’re fun!

When the iPad was first announced, I was in the in-between stages of wanting a Macbook Pro, but wanted something more portable and lightweight that I could carry at school. I wanted to have everything in one place, my music, my email, my internet and my schedules.

Like most Apple products, it was easy to start using iPad immediately without having to stop and read several pages of a difficult to understand owner’s manual..

Even though the iPad was a new product, it was easy to use right out of the box since it has the same features of the iPod Touch and iPhone, but on a much larger level. Syncing up calendars, contacts, email, music photos and applications took less than an hour.

It is exciting being an early adopter and purchasing Apple products at the release because their products never disappoint, they only get better with time. I would be hesitant to purchase other products at their release if I wasn’t confident in the company or the product.

Maybe it was because it was an Apple that I was comfortable with purchasing a new, first generation product. That made my choice easier and would make it easy for me in the future.
If you are an early adopter, be prepared for the product to be re-released with new features and at a cheaper cost. In the meantime, learn how to be productive with your purchase and enjoy it.
