Take a chance on ska music

Streetlight Manifesto is a fairly new band. They released their first album on August 26, 2003, and they’re on Victory Records. If you like Catch 22, NOFX, or any ska/punk bands, then you’ll most likely enjoy listening to Streetlight Manifesto. Their new album, ’99 Songs of Revolution Vol. 1′, was released on March 16, 2010.

99 Songs of Revolution will include two full-length CD’s from Streetlight Manifesto and two other full-length CD’s from related bands.

This is definitely something you should think about trying out. Even if you aren’t very into ska music, maybe Streetlight Manifesto can open up a door to a new music world that you never really thought about.

Of course, Streetlight being a ska band, they have some different instruments than what you might be used to hearing over and over again. They have the basic instruments such as bass, guitar, and drums, but other than that their music also includes a trumpet, trombone, and a saxophone.

Their new project is a multi-album set. Particularly, this project is cover songs. So it’s older songs that they’ve redone. Maybe they’ll even be better than the original song, or maybe just different, but it’s hard for me to even think that any part of it will be bad.

I can’t lie, Streetlight has had my heart for a while now. They’re upbeat, fun, and their songs still have good messages in them. They make you feel good when you hear them!
I’m just going to advise that you go out and pick up 99 Songs of Revolution or any of their older albums. It’s not likely a decision that you’ll regret

You want another good band? How about The White Stripes. The album that was released on March 16, 2010 is titled ‘Under Great White Lights’.

This album is actually the live music from a documentary made from a tour they went on in Canada. It’s a completely live album of the songs you might already love, if you have already listened to the White Stripes, or the songs you will probably love, if you haven’t listened to them yet. It’s a good idea all together to pick up this album or even the documentary all together.

They have most definitely come a long way from where they began. They started as a garage band. The White Stripes began with Meg and Jack White, a once married couple, they pretended to be siblings. They have grown tremendously and definitely gained popularity.

This album is no let down, and when you listen to it, you will be able to tell it’s not just filler.

In comparison to their older music, it gives me just as good of a vibe and it’s interesting to listen to. Now you have two different albums to head out and pick up. Hopefully you’ll enjoy them, and similar bands, as much as I did.
