I started when I was five playing tee ball at Golfmoor.
What position do you play? Have you always played this position?
I play catcher now, but I used to pitch until I got to the high school level. Coaches didn’t want me to do both because it may mess up my arm. I wanted to do both, though.
What is it that makes baseball fun for you?
I just love to play. I like the one-on-one competition with the pitcher. Playing catcher is fun because I’m always a part of the action. The other posistions I played weren’t as much fun because there’s more standing around.
Do you have any rituals you do before and at bat?
No, usually we’re on a tight schedule because we don’t have much time before games which start at 4. I just try to focus on the pitcher and the at bat in general.
If you didn’t play baseball would you play any other sport?
I’d probably play basketball. I like to play and played for my grade school team but I gave it up to focus more on baseball. I still play when I can because I still enjoy it.
What’s your greatest achievement you’ve got out of playing baseball?
Playing varsity baseball and making Academic All-City are my greatest accomplishments from baseball.
What’s your motivation to do better in baseball?
I wanted to try to pursue baseball in college, but now I’m not sure. No matter what decision I make the hard work will be worth it.
