Ten years ago, students in the EVSC sat in the same classrooms that students are occupying now. They took notes by hand as teachers lectured, researched information through books in the library looked up with a physical card catalog, and tracked down and talked to teachers after school to get help over an assignment.

Now, students are able to type notes on the netbooks, have information at the ready due to the internet, and talk to teachers through email and the instant messenger on Angel, sending them assignments and questions any time of the day.

These netbooks, which have been presented to each student, are a giant step in learning. They are meant for communication, access to the internet and Angel, a broadened horizon, and convenience.
